Default Need diagnosis

Hello,

I am the proud owner of a 1999 E320 4matic wagon. I have owned it for about 2 months. It has 65k miles. I recently noticed a small drip coming from the transmission and took it to a local foreign auto mechanic that I located in the yellow pages. He fixed the leak (I'm very suspicious of what he actually did) however suddenly I have encountered a new problem and am concerned he has disabled something to get me back in to him. Now to the point.... When I go over a bump or make a turn at a corner I'm hearing what sounds like the rear springs making a pinging noise. Only owning the car for 2 months I'm not able to tell if the rear suspension is acting different or not. I did look under the hood by the wiper fluid tank and there is plenty of rear suspension fluid ( at least I think thats what it is). I also have no evident warnings or service lights coming on. Can anyone give me any pointers.

Thanks

Default RE: Need diagnosis

I would first ditch the notion that a tech would purposely sabatoge your car for future service. It does not happen. The men and women that work on these cars have more work than they can handle. To the root of the problem. Did the transmissin support have to be removed? It could be loose (error by the tech) This would account for a shifting side to side sound like that. @ 60k miles on your car, you should not have any serious seal problems. Pan gasket will leak. Easy fix. Best way to tell for sure is to clean the trans completley and look for the highest source of fluid drip and work your way down. Good Luck
