Default Lost key

I lost both keys for my Vito. I ordered and received a new one from the Mercedes garage. I tried to start the car today it fired a few times but refused to run properly. I thought this might have been because it has been standing for a month but now I'm wondering if I need to get the key programmed. Would it fire if it needed programming? Confused!

Hello!

If it fires i believe it does not need to be PROGRAMMED again. Which kind of key is it? What year is your VITO?

It's the 2.3TD 1997 Fashion. The key has 2 pads (open and close) and a flip for the actual metal key.

Okay.

You dont need reprogramming. I think you need a new battery to your car, or try to jumpstart it...
