Just wondering what some of your people's incomes situation is and how you afford these cars ( like 2003+ SL 500 or somethin) IM only 18, i really want a nice car and I believe im going into a field that is in high demand and that I would really enjoy, hopefully I can get a good job. Or maybe in just general how do you guys afford these cars? <edited><editID>rage2021</editID><editDate>38088.3968055556</editDate></edited>

Lie, cheat, and steal. Why do you think the federalgovernment is after every CEO that danced with other people's money and wants to put them all in jail? Poor Martha.</P>

Have you evernoticed? Someone with no moneydrives the same car as someone with a bunch of money. I don't think it's the money. Someone made a bad decision. </P>

So anyway, you're prepared to make a career choice based on the kind of car you want? When I was growing up and had such a thought, my dad would sit me down and say, "Son, you knucklehead."</P>

Take care of yourself first. If you worry, worry about your family, not the car you don't have yet.The car will come.</P>

Default RE: Income

Based on a bunch of detailed questions about your current finances, your financial history, your financial plans, the exact car you want, your work history, what manufacturers are offering as incentives or payment options, how long you plan to keep the car and what you plan to do with it, and other ever-changing variables, any advice you got today probably wouldn't be worth anything even next month.

Don't lose your focus on life. Don't forget about the car you want someday. But for now, forget about the details of how you'll pay for it. You'll just spin your wheels in a futility exercise. Instead, find a nice young lady to obsess over.

Keep a pic of your dreamcar on a wall. Buy some memorabilia and diecasts to remind yourself and convince others that someday, you're getting that car. When the time comes to get the actual car, you probably won't be able to afford it anyway. Just kidding, but you'll know what to do. If not, ask then, not now. You may not even have to pay for it. You may get a company car as a benefit. May be a Saturn or something. Ack.

If you're already loaded and the money is burning a hole in your pocket, I'd ask someone I know and trust for advice. Don't go to the Internet to ask e-strangers how you should spend your money. That's what you need to learn today.

nice words, Lugnut!!

my dream is a SLK, but what I think is that by the time I have money to afford one (if that day ever comes, I hope it does!!) it will not be THE car anymore.

anyway, I´m much more worried about graduating ASAP then about the car I´ll buy in ten or twenty years

In the meantime, learn proper grammar, spelling, and capitalization. It will help you when you try to get a good job. You have a better chance if you don't make yourself look dumb.
