Help! I have a 94 E320 wagon with a stuck ignition key. Won't turn left to remove or right to start the car. I have check all the obvious ( in Park etc.). I have been giggling the key and turing the wheel for hours to no avail. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Been here and done this.....at -25 below too. It's a frustrtating situation to be sure. No disrespect to the previous poster, but STOP with the WD-40as it's a waste of time. Your tumblers in the lock/ ignition system are out of line due to age and wear. If you can find a locksmith who is familar with the lock cylinder itself and how it works you will be fine $$ wise. If you snap the key and bury half of it in the cylinder you will not be so fine, so easy with the efforts here. Your delaership solution is obvious, but try and find one of those mobil locksmith types (Yellow Pages) and see what that yields. Good Luck and easy on the key.....

Thanks for the info. I found a mobile locksmith that has dealt with this problem many times before. Especially with high mileage mercedes. Quoted about $425.00 for the job with mbz parts. Does That sound about right?
Thanks again

this isnt any help but it has happened to me; Driving down a long steep gorge which I always turn the car off and coast down, dont really no why I do it, its a bit of a struggle to go around the hairpins without the power steering on. But at the bottom one time the key jammed while iw as trying to turn the engine on! For some reason you have to turn the key all the way off and then start (dunno if all Mercs require that but its stupid and annoying) and it jammed in the off section so the steering locked and I had to jammed on the brakes to avoid going off the road! And coudlnt turn the car on! I was struggly with the key for about ten minutes blocking 1/2 the road and it just suddenly worked. hasnt happened again. I found it to be a rather bizarre experience!
