Hello, I just picked up my first new E350 4matic and I absolutely love it. However, I was astonished to find out that Xenon head lamps are not standard on a $60K auto mobile. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed when I was told that the option couldn't even be added by dealer service because it is a factory option.

Anyway, my question is...Is there any after market product I can purchase to deliver the same cosmetic effect and performance standard Mercedes HID lamps would deliver?

 

It is - of course - possible to retrofit the original MB bi xenons to your W211 E-class. No matter what your dealer tells you.

You have to keep in mind, though, that your car will need reprogramming through Stardiagnose (xenons must be set to present). The auto level system of the bix won't work when upgrading from halogen headlights, because halogen equipped cars don't come with the proper hardware to support auto levelling. But you will always be able to aim the beam manually.
