Default Help! Euro lamps.

I,m about to buy euro glass for w126. But I,m not sure if it will fit on DOT US style lamps. I want to remove that ugly plastic and glue euro glass instead. Will it fit? I heard one guy did that with his w124 and it looks great. Does anybody know? Thanks.

Default RE: Help! Euro lamps.

Did mine, i have a 1986 300e. If your car comes with wiper blades for the headlights, you might have to remove those, as the whole for which the electric motor arm passes through is in a different spot in the Euro models.

Also I have to change the housing for the plug that connects the wires to the euro headlight assembly. the European comes with 5 terminals (low beam, high beam, fog light and driving light+ ground) whereas the north american only come with 4 terminals since the driving light is connected to the corner lights ( turn signal lights).

I went to the dealership and got the plastic housing and rewire them, also connected the driving lights to both the headlight and the corner light assembly. It really isn't that hard, but you need a soldering gun, but it took me about 35 minutes to di it. ( the re-wiring) and not only it looks better, the lighting is much better.
