Help! 1997 300D dash lights out
My 1997 300D has all the dash lights out. The radio lights and the auto shifter position lights are still working. The glove box light and the interior lights work. I've checked the fuses, and they are all ok.
Is there a relay that controls the dash lights? It seems strange that they would all go out unless there is a fuse or relay that is bad. I suppose the wiring harness could be bad, but the car has been babied it's whole life (it has 79,000 miles on it, so I can't imagine deterioration of the wires or connectors).
Does anyone have other ideas?
What is involved in getting into the dash to change the lights or harness?
I'm on a cross-country trip with the car right now, and need to fix this so I can safely drive at night.
Feel free to send me email directly.
Thanks.
