Default Gauge Cluster on 97 E320

My '97 E320 gauge cluster is intermittently not working at all. Sometimes all gauges work fine, and sometimes none of the gauges work at all. It is all determined when the ignition is turned on. In the error mode, the speedometer sweep would stay stagnant at "0" and vibrate slightly, while all other gauges remain totally unmoved, including tach, temp and gas gauges. In anormal mode, all gauges work fine. I do hear a relay click somewhere in the dashboard when the ignition is turned on of off, however, this is heard whether normal or error mode. Would anyone have a suggestion how to cure this problem?

BUMP!

I was hoping someove would have an idea. Was searching all over the interned and talked to few mechanics, but could not find much.
It seems I may have to replace the entire cluster. What a bummer [sm=alcoholic.gif]
