fuel pump relay turns off

Does anybody know what can cause a fuel pump relay to turn off? I have a 1986 420 sel that is currently having stalling problem probably related to the fuel pump relay. I have discovered that once the car is warm the relay will turn off, cutting power to the fuel pumps. I replaced the relay, but still experience the same problem, so the relay itself is good. When I place my hand on the relay I can feel it 'click' off as the engine stops and there in no longer any power to the fuel pumps. The car will restart, but the relay will turn off alot quicker now that the engine is warm. Could it be related to another sensor in contact with the fuel pump relay? I hope someone can help. Thanks, Drew
