Default Fuel Gauge

In Februray I leased the CLK 350. Recently I am having problems with the Fuel Gauge, thank goodness it is under warranty! The car is saying it has 1/4 tank and with a 60+ mile range until empty. The problem is at this point the fuel tank is actually empty! Any insight would be greatly appreciated because I do not think the dealership has a clue.

The first time it was in for service they replaced the entire computer system and believed they had solved the problem. When it happened two weeks later obviously they did not fix it. So now they have had it for 1 week and are in the middle of replacing a lot of other things.

Is this a regular problem with this model? Or is this more like one in a million? And is this a problem that can be fixed or am I to suspect that I will continue to have this problem for as long as I am leasing the car?

Once again any insight would be greatly appreciated.

just one of those flukes of ownership, hopefully you have a loner car that they gave you to put some miles on. had similar problem 6 years ago turned out to be a bad float that was replaced twice!

Default RE: Fuel Gauge

my guess is that you will continue to have problems with this car. particularly 209 model clk's are the most defective mercedes i have EVER HEARD of!a fuel gauge problem has often been seen with the 209 clk and and the s class before this latest one. half the posts that show up in my email when i check it with clk 350's
