Fitting a 69 280s with 300 air ride suspension
Hello all.. I recently got my first Mercedes... Im building into minitrucks, but im trying sumthing new.. Make a mercedes lowrider.. I've fitted a toyota hilux pickup truck with airbag suspension, but doing a mercedes is new to me.. I know that the 69 300SEL came out standard with air ride suspension, Is it possible to fit the 300's suspension into my 280 without cuttin too much up??? The guy who I bought the 280 off collects mercs and he seems to think its possible.. He is wrecking a 300 and said I could use all the mounting hardware but the bags are shot... If this is all possible to do the conversion, where and how much would I get some replacment airbags for the 300 to go into my 280... As for ride hight control it will be all electronic air solinoids, and compressors etc.. Thanks for your help..

welcome.
what is the "300" model?
so far, nobody have done such conversion yet.
it is possible for as long as you got the time, patience, tools, parts, informations and green bucks.

very interesting.
i haven't seen any of those models but it can be possible.
the air cells sits on the top of shock absorbers...right? if you got much space under the hood on top of strut...why not?
you really need to cut that strut housing and fit the bracket from 109. the shape doesn't look so simple either because it's rounded.
better take a closer look and see if it fits your capacity.
