Default ENGINE WONT START UP SOMETIMES, PLEASE HELP

hey i'd really appreciate some help/advice about my problem:

i have a '94 e420 with 130,000 mi that usually starts fine but sometimes after i park it (usually when i park on hills or slopes), the engine will fail to start. i hear the "chugging" sound of the engine, attempting to start up but it never reaches the ignition point. jumping my car usually solves this problem. wat can i do about this problem? thanks for the input.

maybe the battery got no more fluid?

when on the slope, the electrolyte shifts.

When you say "I hear the "chugging" sound of the engine" do you mean that it's cranking over fine and it just won't start ? or does the battery crank until it dies ?

Check the battery & starter first.

Then you need to determine if it's not getting fuel or not getting spark when cranking.

Could be several things.

I would take a look at the fuel pump relay. Some of the fuel pump relays are made somewhat poorly and develop bad soldering joints inside.

It could be that the relay is not "kicking in" until you throw the extra current to it when jump starting it.

hope this helps,
TJ
