97 S320 with maybe a slight valve cover gasket leak. Washed it down real goodto track leak and engine started to drop a cylinder or maybe two, check engine light came on.Found water in some of the plug tubes, blew it out and ends of the connectors/coils, let set 12 hours in 80 degree weather. Checked resistance on plug wires and found all 3 the same. Disconnected battery ground to put computer to sleep and changed out the plugs with new. Reinstalled batt cable and fired engine, still is missing, could a coil go bad if the end is under water?

M104 LH engine?
locate the defective cylinder first by pulling the HT leads one by one or the fuel injector connector.
the one that doesn't make any changes on engine is the faulty one.
the find out if it is fuel or ignition side.

Thanks for the fast response, I thought it would be days before a response. I will pull injector leads to see which cylinder(s) is the problem. Can't do this for a week as I am out of town.

Appreciate your information, I finally repaired the problem this week. I did check the F.I. and didn't note any change with #6. I had pulled the new plugs and #6 was clean, looking unfired, inspected the coil and found a hairline crack down the side. Ordered, replaced and when installed it ran just fine. I believe the presence of water in the plug hole caused the problem with the coil. Thanks again for your input!
