Hello...........everytime I come to a stop I always hear a small motor turning on and off (similar to sound when you adjust your carseat) by the engine area is it normal for E500 (2005)? It seems like a small motor is always trying to compensate something in the front?

It could be your air conditioning compressor clutch engaging and disengaging. Your compressor should be cycling when running ac or defrost. But if it is that noisy, you may have a compressor problem.

You don't say what year car you have - it could be the air injection pump clutch, but that should not be cycling often. And again, if it is that noisy, you may also have a bad pump.
