Okay, I'm driving on the interstate then all the dash lights come on and a few gauges stop functioning with the exception of the SRS. Nothing else is affected.
I take it to a "professional shop" and they say it is an alternator for a small sum of 800.00

Here is the deal, the car was driven more than 30 or 40 miles after the dash lights came one...it never stalled, started right up every time since, ...some of the gauges aren't working, but that's all.

The car NEVER once acted like it was the alternator. I drove this car for near 40 miles and it never ran down like usual when a car is forced to run off the battery.

So the car runs great, all accessories work, I've checked every item from lights to windshield wipers and windows every item works. Yet the board lights (dash) up and some of the gauges don't work.

Since the "professional" said it was an alternator I installed the new alternator....and still the same problem exist.

any ideas.....and if you are wondering if I checked the fuses....yep I'm a dummy and did not, I trusted the "professional"
