I have two flashing wrenches in my odometer, it started with the number 100 flashing and now it is up to 400 flashing!! What does this mean? I am desperate because my wife has to go on a trip and I do not know if this is safe

Simple

You are overdue a major service. Initially by 100 days and now 400 days.

If your car was serviced by a non MB dealer or yourself they will likely not have reset the service counter.

The light doesn't mean there is anything wrong BUT ....if the oil etc has not been changed you are doing ongoing damage to the engine through dirty etc oil.

The handbook gives advise about this and how to reset it yourself BUT of course that doesn't resolve the basic problem.

Incidentally MB can tell when the Service Indicator is cancelled by anybody except those with special equipment.
