Default Dash lights 380SEL

The lights just won't function. Any real clues on the cause?

have you tried to replace them? did you check the fuse, the light switch, the reostate? these all could be the problem or part of the problem. I would go to the fuse and the switch first, and see if they are getting current could be a bad ground.

Try turning the dimmer **** on the dash, just below the speedo. LH **** I think. Sometimes the oxidise, but sometimes they break too.

OK Guys you've given me some help. Any clues on how to clean the switch? I'm real new in the Mercedes game and know very little about maintainence. I messed with the switch and the lights came on but touching the reostat kills the lights again.

Thanks

If you can pull the cluster out, use an electronic contact cleaner on the rheostat.
