Default Dash light burned out 99 SLK230

I took my 99 SLK230 to have it detailed and when I got it back part of the dash backlights are not working now. They cleaned the engine. Is it possible that something got knocked off or did the bulbs burn out for some reason. How do I diagnose or replace the lights?

It is impossible to prove that your instrument cluster light bulb(s) were nocked loose for burnt as a result of a detail job. So I would drop it in that aspect.

You need instrument cluster removal too. Take out the instrument cluster and you can replace the light bulb. You can buy the removal too on e-bay or from the dealer.

i doubt that the detail had anything to do with it.its just a mercedes owner coincidence that that happened. your cluster is different than most of the benzes, you have to remove the lower dash panel and then remove the panel around the cluster itself. then you can access the cluster screws. there are no special tools needed in removal, maybe just a small plastic type wedge to help with prying off the cover and trim pieces. i think you have to remove or loosen the trim around the headlight switch. its kind of a bitch to get to the cluster itself.
