I read somewhere that if you replace the stoplights with US lamps that the cruise control will not work. When you replace them you must use Euro type lamps of the correct wattage. Any comments?

Urban legend, Just make sure you have the correct bulb number

 

I figured it was Urban legend from the engineering stand point. How do I troubleshoot this then? It trys to engage if I hold the lever. If someone can explain the operation I might be able to trace the components.
