In the USA, the CDT means the person has received training to perform a diagnosis of the technical problem and has been certified. They may or may not be in charge or be responsible for colleages. Normally, the Certification means they are better qualified to make any diagnosis. There may be several CDTs in the same garage.

Hope this answers you questions.

Thank you for your precise answers. You were very kind.

But for Mercedes-Benz the head of the garage is notthe Certified Diagnosis Technician?

In the USA, who is the head of the garage? Is he qualified for his job or not?

For example, can a simple mechanical become head of the garage?

The last questions. In the USA, (if you can tell me this thing) what is the pay for CDT?

Thank you for you answers and for your kind.

I'm sorry for my expressions.

H.

The Head of the Garage is more likely to be somewhat qualified in Diagnosis, Wheel alignment, Engine tune up, Brakes and most every major part of the automobile.

Most automobile repair shops charge around $90.00 per hour for repairs. I do not know how much the person doing the work receives.
