c220 dies at stop
My 1995 C220 has started dying when I come to a stop. It doesn't do it all the time though. The other day, it died at start up until it warmed up, and this morning it was dying after it warmed up and had been working fine while it was cold. I have replaced the plugs and wires andair filterwithin the last year and am wondering if the MAF sensor, O2 sensor, or something along those lines could be the culprit.
I prefer to do my own maintenance, and am wondering what is the prefered book for the home enthusiast?
Thanks for any help and opinion given.

RE: c220 dies at stop
I hear you on your own maintenance--if the problem only happens when the engine is hot it can only be 2 things...
1--crank sensor-internal resistance climbing too high and fails to recognize flywheel position-
2--k40 overvoltage protection relay, same deal about resistance too high internally

RE: c220 dies at stop
Thanks for the help.
I drove the car yesterday around town for some errands and it never missed a lick!
(I hate intermittent problems.)
The car has done this when it is cold; then stoped once it warmed up, and again when it was warmed up during a different drive. I haven't figured out what is the common ground yet. Each time the weather has been extremely cold, but I would think the engine warming up would cause the problem to go away.
I'm hoping to find a good manual that will help me check the different sensors out in my own garage, before I have to give up and take it to a professional.

One other thing to add; when the problem occurs, the car does good to hold on to 500RPM whether in park or drive. When it is working correctly, it's going 1000RPM in park and 600RPM in drive.
Thanks to all who have any ideas.
