Default C180 Footbrake Problem

The footbrake in my 2005 C180 Kompressor seems to be stuck and the warning light keeps on beeping. When I park I cannot press the footbrake down but I am able to drive normally. Please can someone assist with the issue. It also has just come back from a service with the Mercedes Benz dealership.

If its a foot operated brake with the hand pull release it sounds like the release tray cable or locking pin is jammed. I suggest you apply pressure to the foot peddle and at the same time pull out the release handle to see if this relieves pressure on the locking pin. It is possible to remove the carpet from above the peddles and this exposes the parking brake mechanics.
Why MB didnt put a handle with a push button in the end next to the gear lever is beyond me, that system has worked fine for nearly 90 years......
Hope this helps, Gary (UK).
