Bosch spark plugs ok?

RE: Bosch spark plugs ok?
I have Bosch plugs in both my Mercedes, my 99 C280, 12 plugs also, came with Bosch Plugs when I bought the cr (pre owned). Last weekend I changed the plugs in my 450SLC (only 8) and used Bosch Plats. The Pats fire a bit hotter then a non plat, but I don't think this will be a problem in the 450SLC. My son has Bosc Pat 4's in is 96 Acura. So what's my point, I think Bosch plugs are a great product and will outlast most other brands

It doesn't matter. They're all the same.
Buy copper ones. Don't waste your money on platinums. Copper plugs perform better and are dirt cheap in comparison to platinums. You need to change copper more often. About every 30K to 40K miles.
Be sure to put some anti-seize on the threads. It will keep them from fusing to the aluminum heads.

I agree that Platinums are not worth the extra money.
I have tried Bosch. Beru & NGK in my R129 & W124 s and have found NGK the best in that they have good wear characteristics and are excellent for anti-fouling on older engines. The idle is noticebly smoother and marginally faster on NKG s.

I would go with the Bosch 4's. Platinum plugs last longer since they are resistant to fouling type crap sticking to them. This is why most cars come with them today as manufacturers want to reduce maintenance. These 4's will last 100k miles if the engine is in good condition. Changing plugs every 30k or so is ludicrous considering the technology we have today. Actually the Bosch 4's have been proven in independent tests to improve gas mileage and increase horsepower. I've read that Bosch is too conservative a company to make these claims.

What about this one:

(The first plug on the page, it's the only Bosch one there)

Platinum plugs provide a less powerful spark at the same gap than copper. That's why Bosch doesn't make such a ludicrous claim as the platinum increases horsepower.
If you use platinum, make sure they are the kind without platinum buttons. They'll fall off into the combustion chamber long before 100K miles.
None of you guys are stressing the use of anti-seize. With just about every M-B using aluminum head(s), you need anti-seize if you ever plan to remove spark plugs after 100K miles without removing part of the head(s) along with the plugs.
Most of you guys are putting way too much importance on spark plug brands. You sound silly as ****.
