BAS/ESP warning light on SLK
#11
ESP and Bas are 2 different safety features esp is stability control when car is skidding out control and Bas (brake assist ) which uses a valve internal in booster to release or vent pressure so to driver you feel a puff of air on brake pedal and the pedal falls deeper in to assist driver in pressing more of the brake pedal. Most of the time the brake sw is at fault but some times even the new part is installed incorrecly with new part out pull the white tip all the way out then press in slowly till 3 click heard and install into brake pedal by holding brake pedal all the way down install sw and slowly release its ok if you hear more click then press brake pedal a few times. also if your batt. voltage in car is below 13 v it may dropp power to esp module causing light stay on . or the steering angle sensor looses initialization which once power is above 12.9 v tengine on turn wheel to right then left lock multiple times the light should go off if not go to shop its more than youll be able to do at home.
