B200 "Transmission contact workshop" message
Good day,
I have a B200 CDI 2008 model, 147000 km on the clock.
As of the past weekend, I started receiving a message "Transmission contact workshop" on the dash, and the car won't change gears any more.
After I put the car in park and switch the ignition off, and start the car again, it seems to be fine.
What could the issue be?
Hoping to hear from you soon!
Kind Regards,
Rynard

A defective transmission conductor plate
So, I decided to leave the car, and when it started messing about, I'd stop, put the car in park, switch off the ignition, and Bob's your uncle, after that the car worked.
That was until I tried getting to work this morning.
The gears went completely crazed, and it felt as if I'm on some type of amusement park ride. It kept on changing gears up and down up and down.
So, I then booked the car in with a dealer. After running their diagnostics tools on the car, they found that it was a defective transmission conductor plate.
The car will now stand at the dealership for 2 weeks, and the cost is 30,000 ZAR, which is approximately $2,830.00.
I also have to rent a vehicle for 2 weeks, which is approximately $565.00.
I just hope that after I get my car back it's fixed, and this is not the start of more issues.
Does anyone have an idea of how long the car is sorted after fixing the above-mentioned issue?
