Alarming Problem! '89 560SL
Recently disassembled dash/glove box etc. with battery disconnected. At reassembly, horn sounded & lights flashed! Good job I had removed the hard top or I'd have busted my scalp as I headed to orbit - man, talk about a surprise!
I disconnected battery, found the offending horn, pulled connector off and tried again. Lights still flashing. I locked and unlocked the doors per the manual but I can not get the system to reset. There is a relay in the alarm controller click-clacking. Anyone know how to fix my girl?

Following wiring diagrams, it seems that all the interior and trunk lights must be functional as they are connected to the central alarm. i.e. no bulb, no power to unit. Making progress by elimination but problem not yet fixed. Another thing - I have removed the radio a few times and it always worked on re-installation. This time though, when 'on' is pressed all I see is a line of 4 bars on the display. Any ideas?
