Air Con on 1997 SL
Howdy!
My air con blasts out freezing air (even if I have it set to 31 degrees). Then, if I floor the throttle (which obviously I would never do!)the air comes out really hot and starts working perfectly... Guessing this is a power supply problem...? Any ideas what iscausing this / how I can fix it? Many thanks! |

Just a stab in the dark. Duo Valve?
This is the electrical solenoid(s) that allows hot water into the hearter/air con unit in the car. They are Open when energised. Since the pressure in the water system is greater once the engine is doing more revs this may explain the apparent solving of the problem when you "floor" the throttle. i.e. restricted / partial flow. The Duovalve can be taken apart. Usually the problem is due to corrosion between the moving metal cylinder and the electric magnet. Clean, lightly lubricate etc. Alternatively it could be the electrical supply (pulse) that is wrong but i favourthe former. Stuart. |
