AC Blower

AC Blower
The blower motor on my AC doesn't reach maximum speed in either the auto mode or manual mode on my E420. It appears to work fine until you reach the mid point, then it doesn't increase in speed. My AC is blowing cold air. I am thinking that it is the blower regulator more than the control switch since it reacts the same in both auto and manual modes. Is their any way I can test the blower regulator to see if it is in fact bad before purchasing a new one? Thanks.

RE: AC Blower
Problem fixed. Apparently it was the blower regulator/resistor. Unfortunately they no longer make the original regulator, so if you want to replace it with new parts you need to purchase the entire blower assembly and new blower cover for a total of about $800. Fortunately I located one online at a salvage yard and for $185 I got the complete blower assembly with regulator. It is now working fine.

RE: AC Blower
I'm having the fan speed problem with my 97 E320. I have a blowup picture of the fan assembly from my dealer and a picture of the blower motor regulator but I can't seen to find the regulator. I took out the glove box and filters and dropped the fan but I don't see the regulator anywhere. Do you know exactly where blower motor regulator
