Hi, I have a 97 s500 that has an ongoing problem , sometimes it will not start , the windows work, panel lights work but car is dead will not turn over and no noise from the starter at all , the man I bought it from told me he had the same problem (after I bought it he told me) and thought it only did this when the steering wheel was not totally straight after being parked. I have had mechanics change the starter, the last time they said it was the wire going to the ignition was not long enough and was not making contact all the time ,so they made it longer, it worked for about 8 months then happened again, this time they said it was the battery so changed that but after one day with the new battery it did the same thing, Im sure the battery was dead when I towed it in because it sat for over a month before I brought it in but I did have it checked initially by the mercedes help and they said at the time it was good. They said nothing shows up on the computer check but the car will not start again. So really they cant figure out why its doing this, it only does it when the car has been parked not while driving, would appreciate any help in this matter if anyone has had this problem with this model? The car was well maintained by the previous owner and does not have high milage for its age. Thanks in advance
