Hi everybody,

My electric sun shade was working normally. Suddenly, it refused to fold. I heard a "click" sound when I pressed the button.
I could not find the fuse under the hood. Did anyone have similar experience and give me some input.
It will cost hundreds of dollar if the motor is dead. Please help!

if you hear a click sound, then the fuse is okay.

 

i have a 99 clk just had the same problem makes a click noise but won't come down .I'm gonna bring it you the dealership to see whats wrong with it I still have starmark warranty so i'll let you know what the problem is.

 

I had a similar problem with my '99 E430. I removed the sunshade and discovered a small piece of debris had jammed the shade from completely retracting. Cleaned it out, reinstalled and now it works great.

I am pretty sure the motor is still working, because it resumed functioning for a while and stop working again.

I was told that i need to remove the back seat before i can reach the motor. How? Is it a big job?

I still need your input.

it's as easy as removing 3 screws.
