'92 190E stereo wiring
I just bought a '92 190 E and the stero has been removed. When I look at all the wiring all I keep thinking is WOW! I just want to put a simple JVC aftermarket back in it but I have no idea what the best way to proceed is. Anybody out there have some good advice for me? Thanks!

Good luck!
I had an after marketSony stereo put in my 1989 300E. The wiring drove the installers crazy at Best Buy. Took them two times to get it right and only the Lead/Senior installer knew how to do it. You might want to consider a professional installer to do it for you.

Bigdog,
First of all, I don't blame you for wanting to replace the old radio.
The factory wiring harness has a power plug, which was connected to the factory stereo. That plug contains a ground (-), a 12 volt power wire which is only on when the ignition is on, and a fulltime 12 volt wire for the clock.
If you cut the old power connector off your old dead radio, you can unsnap it apart and soldier the connectors to your new radio cable, then snap the cover back on, and its a pefect fit. Use a volt meter to verify which wires are hot (12V).

Why don't you get an OEM Radio Cassette for your car keeping it all as it came from the factory, with no altered wiring. Putting a simple JVC on your car would devalue it in a way for some people. I can help you find one if you are interested.
