My imported German 1985 Mercedes 500 SEL isn't running and I need your help. I believe the problem is with an injector. But...this injector is in-line. It's located in a fuel line that runs from a pump going to the fuel distributor. The electrical plug is wired into the computer via an aftermarket box located close to the fuse box. I have no idea what kind of injector this is so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

 

I cannot really imagine what you are describing. Maybe it is best if you take some pictures and put them on here so that we can see if it is really aftermarket or original.

You say that the car is imported from Germany (well, all Mercs of that time were ...). Does it mean that no alterations have been made to make the car road legal for the USA?

German W126 of 1985 do not come with a cat, for instance. Or was this retrofitted to your car?
