hi yall,

i just joind the place a few days ago and put my first post up wif a pic of my car, and now i was wonderin if sum1/ppl could help me out.im in australia so some thing may be different but id appreciate any help anone can give...

the gearbox grabs a bit when changing gears. Sometimes its worse than others, and sometimes it doesnt happen at all,varying pressure on the go pedal dosent seem to change it. I was wonderin if others have had the same problem and if its an easy fix, or if im better off selling it(not!!)-------it has a 3litre efi motor instead of a 2.7 and also has a 4 speed automatic gearbox

the second thing is that if any1 knows an audio brand that offers better replacement speakers. The front ones in the dash are "made in china, 4x6?" and the back are "high quality loudspeakers made in east germany 6 inch dual cone speakers". they seem to have very specific mounts and while i am a very cluey person im just not that sure.

the third is that the teeth on the passenger power window are worn and dont wind the widow fully closed, giveing me this annoying "whirring" noise. Does any1 know how hard they are to replace and what id expect to pay in Aussie dollars for 1

ave somebody check the modulating pressure and command valve cable linkage adjustment.

replacing window regulator needs removing the door panel.

Get some blaupunkt German speakers for the front, should be able to get them from a scrap motor for a few dollars!

 

I had the same window problem on my '89 300E -- worn teeth on the regulator. I located another window regulator from a salvage yard ($55 US incl. motor) and replaced it myself. It's not a high-tech job to replace, just time-consuming. The window works fine now.
