Default 83' 300D boost pressure

im currently running a 1983 300D turbo diesel with a dump pipe and the turbo cranked up to 25 psi (measured at the back of the intake). im considering a turbo upgrade. just wondering if anybody has experience with the turbo diesels.. i'd like to know how much pressure i can stuff down her safely.

Default RE: 83' 300D boost pressure

thats a lot of psi for any car most car run less than 12 psi . you had to have by passed the intake pressure cut out sw and looped passed the sw. over valve located near master cyl. i would say you are way pass max end dont forget it is a stock 300d for petes sake not a specially designed turbo motor build to handle the stresses and added heat the high boost ratings will produce you engine is on borrowed time in my opinion also the rebuild cost of those expensive when it decides to let go and lets face it 1983 300d its not worth it
