76 280 fan belt problem

Follow up
in the interest of other people in similiar situation
the clanking was due to one of the AC Belt gears being loose and banging against the moving fan
the bearing was depleting causing the minor clanking
and there were no bearing left at all when the noise made the car undrivable and dangerous to drive
at this point it was just a peice of metal on a rod with nothing securing it down
can be fixed with new part from MB including gear and bearings
I dont know the technical names for the part
