Ok, I have a 86 420sel 137k miles, engine idels fine, but started smokeing and gas mileage went down to 10mpg about a month ago. I replaced the eha valve thinking this would fix the problem, it didnt. The car now will start and run and idle fine, but will not go over 3k RPM's it seems to be starving for air or gas. I read this may be due to a faulity fule pressure regulator, but dont have the 400.00 to find out if thats not it. Any thoughts?

The car is to nice and runs to good to have any major issues, and I really want to keep it and fix it rather than sell it due to a problem like this I cant place. Any help please!

have the fuel pump relay checked, it limits the rpms to which fuel cut off occurs
