300SDL, 560SEL climate control trim removal.
Hi.
1987 300SDL and a 1987 560SEL(friends).
On the 300SDL, the auto climate control works, but it only blows on the lowest speed.
On the 560SEL it works only if you push really hard on the fan speed buttons.
Anyone know how to properly remove the panel surrounding these switches/dials to see what might be bad?
Known causes of these problems?
Thanks!
Teron

ok, I did several searches, all forums and S class, using one word...dash, trim, panel, heater, heat, switch, center, hvac, climate, switches.
I found this link to possibly fix my problem on the 300sdl...where is the fan regulator located?
https://mercedesforum.com/m_9306/mpa...ol/tm.htm#9306
I found no post that explains how to get that center panel off to get to the switches, or a diagram to either.

your radio is not original, so it might just be pushed in type.
anyway, you need to remove that tray first and you will find 2 flathead screws. then just pull the trim out.
