Default 300e with 300k

Hi I'm new.
I just found a 89 300e with 304k on it. It seems very solid, but I'm not sure if 300k is just too many miles.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Well I got an 1989 300e with 411K on it and she runs as smooth as they come.... It all depends on the maintenance that was done on the car by the previous owner and how it was driven. I think if the body is in mint condition and she runs fine(after a test drive) jump on it as long as the price is right.

I agree, If the body is good, and it doesn't smoke, that's the main thing. Smoking usually means an engine overhaul is due. Everything on my 2.6 six cylinder has been great over 300k except the fuel injection parts. I think watered-down gas takes a toll on the FI.

If the car has been really well looked after, then it shouldn't be a problem. Old mercs go forever. My 300E had the head re-done at 260K, but it wasn't looked after *that* well from the driver perspective. Always serviced well and promptly though.
