RE: 240d clutch/gear grind

A bit of grinding while going into reverse is somewhat normal. Reverse is not syncronised with the rest of the gears.

The grinding while going into first can be minimized by coming to a full stop before shifting into first. In this case the problem sounds like a worn synrco.

The sloppy shifting when warm is likey a worn or loose transmission mount. This should be repaired as it is cheap and easy to do.
