Exclamation 2007 mercedes benz E350 - ignition key question

Hello, I am very new to the MB Forum. I had just recently purchased a used 2007 mercedes benz E350. While I was driving out of my driveway, I accidentally turned the smart key to the off position and the engine turned off while the gear was still in the "D" position. I was wondering if anybody else had encountered that before and if that is normal? I did not think it would even allow me to turn the ignition key while it was in the drive position but it did anyway. Should I be concerned?

thanks for your help and advice in advance.

Every car can be shut off wi6th the key when in gear. It should not allow it to go into the "lock" position.

It looks like the previous owner of this vehicle was a smoker; if only i could get rid of the smoke smell and fix this burnt hole on the carpet. I have used upholstery fresheners and it made it tolerable but i could still smell the cigarette smell when it's hot outside. Anybody out there knows how to repair or patch up holes on the auto carpet? Appreciate the help?

Default Ignition won't turn 06 mercedes e350

I woke up and the ignition won't turn but everything else seems to work. I tried to take off battery terminals overnight to reset it but I am still having trouble. It's freezing cold here as well so I wonder if that could be a contributing factor. Please help I am stuck here.

Working on 2001 C320 Mercedes. When I put my key in the ignition nothing happens. Are used to hear a noise when I inserted the key. It won't turn or do anything. Any help out there would be appreciated

Hello - have you checked that you're getting power in general? Have you looked at the starter? You can likely pull some fault codes that should tell you where the issue is coming from.
