I posted the same thread in the S-500 and am so desperate that i decided to post it here as well. I hope its ok with you guys !!

I really need your help here as my garrage seems clueless in solving the following problem:

I have the new shape 2006 Mereces S-500 Long equipped with COMMAND and with various other gadgets. It has the original phone cradle and Herman Kardon audio system.

Occasioanly (like once every day or two) in perfect weather and at random locations, the radio sound would dissapear for 5 seconds and the screen would show a notice that the telephone is initiazlizing itself. Aftet the cell phone has restarted itself the sound comes back. This symptop can happen few times in a row.

To make the issue more complicated - in Israel we need to add a stand alone GPS that connects to the main screen (as no software is available for our region - which by itself is crazy) so when the GPS and screen connector were installed (I removed them completely to start the troubleshooting) every time the phenomena happended the GPS would initialize itself and sometimes the screen would flicker (like turned off and on again).

All the signs point to some sort of an electric / electronic problem.

Has anyone seen any similar thing in their S-class ?? I would very much appreciate any tip before the garrage dismentals my car into many little pieces in search of the problem.

also to make matters worse i have 2006 s600 but i am not able to view video i need help to do something to bypass whatever is needed to get video. thanks

 

have same problem with 2006 s-500. dealer advises new tuner, eur 2300 excluding hours. tuner not available due to supplier problems japan. real german quality without a trace of support.
