2001 C320 won't start
Hi all
I am from Canada. My mom 2001 C320 wouldn't start for us today. I am hoping to get some advice for anyone.
1) Key in, try to start the car, lights are on, fans are on. No cranking noise or any engine noise at all
2) tried jump starting the car, no change
3) tried disconnecting the -ve terminal of the battery and hooking it up again...no change
4) ? starter ? fuel pump?
any idea?
Thanks
Nathan

The lights, horns and fans use only a fraction of current compared to the starter. If they are on, it does not mean the battery is strong enough to start the car.
Batteries have been known to die suddenly. I am talking from personal experience.
So, mstar's advice. Take out the old battery, put in a new battery and try.

Forgot to mention this. Before removing th battery from the car, try to get a spare battery. Use cables to connect its - termial to a good ground point. You will see a black box with a red cover with a + sign on it. It is located visibly near the battery area. Open the red cover. You will see a thick metal plate. Connect the + terminal of the spare battery here. Only then you disconnect and remove the battery in your car for replacement. This will avoid all sorts recalibration problems when you change your battery.
