Default 1997 SL 500 Interior mirror

I am going to replace the homelink in my mirror with one that can support rolling codes. Does anyone have any advice or instructions on how to disassemble the interior mirror? Has anyone done this?

I am not so sure it can be replaced. The auto body near me and does work on my 450SL and other old cars I have had. Had an S Class in earlier this year. it was involved in and accident and the owner rear ended a car. The owner is a non seatbelt type, and his hear hit the rearview mirrow and windshield. But the mirror broken it was first thought. Later they found the homlink didn't work. It had to be replaced at a cost of ver $1K plus. You might want to check with a good body shop, that has experience with these cars, or a good dealer to confirm the above.

I didn't know you can replace the homelink. The two mercedes dealers in the area, told the body shop, the entire mirror had to be replaced. Sleepwalker knows all

I guess it is Christmas day in China about now, and almost over?
