1991 350SD acceleration problem
new to mercedes diesel ownership. got a 1991 350SD that will not accelerate under a load. it will rev up in park in the driveway but as soon as you try to take off in drive, it will barely get out of its own way. cleaned the injectors with injector cleaner from NAPA but no change. if i were working on a two cycle engine, it feels like something in the exhaust is clogged but i cannot tell. i know nothing about the history of the car since i have had it only a few days. engine cranks and idles great but just will not take off. at this point i am about ready to start taking the exhaust apart to see what happens but i was wondering if anyone has experienced a similar situation. i know it could be a million things.

bought the car in the current condition. it will hardly get out of its tracks with the transmission in drive. i have only been down the road about a half mile and back so i have no idea on oil consumption. it does not appear to smoke very much at all at idle or when trying to race the engine in park.

I just bought a 350sd, it was running fine for about 500 miles and then it started loosing power on the hills. I changed the both fuel filters which help but now it got worse. It seems like it is starved for fuel, it won't even stay start sometimes. I think it is the fuel pump any ideas any one?
