Help! Can anyone tell me what type of suspension I have on this car, and what my options are?</P>


I want to replace the shocks on a 1988 300TE wagon. The rears have some type of tube coming out of them at the top, and I fear this means the $400 a piece "Hydropneumatic" shocks are the required replacement.</P>


I can also get a Bilstein shock listed for the right car/year, but the picture does not indicate a tube. Are these "normal" shocks offered to replace the more complicated aforementioned type?</P>
