I'm brand new to this forum and mercedes automobiles. MY husband's father passed away in 2001 and his wife recently passed away last month. His 1986 really hasn't been driven since then. The car is in Los Angeles and we live in Austin, Texas. We're undecided if we should get the car or just sell it there. I can't speak to the condition or the miles. We have a 2003 mini cooper and a 2005 jaguar. We also have a 16 year old son needing a car. Our thought is to get the car and sell the mini, using some the $ to fix up the mercedes and the remainder to buy our son a car. Never having owned a mercedes before, we're not sure if its a good idea. Anyone out there with some insight. Thanks so much.

 

If the 560 has stale gasoline, it can be major! It has mechanical injection and can develop rust inside the fuel lines if sitting too long or not maintained properly. If it runs well, great! I can tell you that even working at a dealer, this is a great car but not cheap to maintain. These cars are pretty good if you drive them alot but if you let them sit or only have them for weekend use, it will cost you.
