Default Best diesel model for bolt on HP

Hello HP Junkies. I'm looking to pickup a new toy to play with on the street and drag strip. It won't be my everyday rig, but a weekend play thing. I race with the National Diesel Hot Rod Association with a couple full size diesel pickups and would like to do something different.

Just thought I'd ask the experts as I'm really ignorant to which model holds a decent amount of power without getting to deep into the short block.

Thank you,

Thank you, can you swap a 606 head on to a 603? Seems like this might kill two birds with one stone having the early electronics.

you said "The only engine worth messing with for high power is the OM606 from the 98-99 E300"
Is this true even for the 300tdt s210?
I now got 3 om606.962 from two 97 cars but only one engine from a 99 car, are these different?

Do you have a reference for what exactly need to be done for archiving as you said before 650hk

I have bought some cars and is in the planing stage, and the gear box and transmission is the next thing,I do not preferable want automatic gear box and is about to start to see if the dodge viper transmission can be a good alternative?
