Wipers Don't Work on 1985 300D

Recently my wipers quit working on my 1985 300D. I checked the fuses with a volt meter, all showed continuity from post to post. I figgered it was probably the combo switch (turn signals, lights, etc all work fine, just no wipers or washers) so I removed the lower kick panel (under the steering wheel) and plugged in another combo switch ( I did not remove the switch on the steering column). Same results, everything seems to work except the wipers/washers........so does this mean it's a bad wiper motor or is there another electrical "opportunity" (relay, fuse, switch, etc).......THANX!!

I had the same issue with my car, wipers and washer would work sometimes, and then would stop working. I too checked the fuses with my volt meter, and it also showed continuity. What it did not show was that there was corrosion both on the fuse holder prongs and the fuse itself. Took out the fuse, used contact cleaner on the fuse holder prongs, and things went back to normal. Apparently, the fuse was making enough contact to fool my meter, but not enough to allow the proper amount of voltage to get to the wiper and washer motor. Hope this works for you

THANX for the info.......I'll re-check the fuses and the possible corrosion issue.......What /where is the controller relay (part number?)....Can this item be purchased at a local auto parts store/MB dealer/ebay??
