Hello everyone, first poster here. I just recently bought a 1982 300CD that just had the engine replaced 60k ago. Runs great, but I turn around 3400 doing 70 on the highway. Is this normal or might there be something up with the trans?

 

My 82 300D would read 55 at 3000rpm....the speedo was off by ~18%. Wierd thing was that the odo was only off my 1 or 2 %. w/out a locking TC, the speed will vary a bit depending on load but you should be able to feel if you trans is nutso.
