W124 300d
Hi all, I had a look at a 1987 6cyl (aluminum head) W124 300d today and wow, what a beautiful car, selling for the equivalent of $3000. The first aid box in the back window sill still has the stuff in, 20 year old plasters and stuf.....???
I like the car, but maybe there are somethings that I need to look for should I take it, to maybe knock the price down a bit. Everything works, electric windows, aircon etc etc. The car has not been in the sun, paintwork is superb, small spot of a ding on the back below the tail light, about as big as a pea, otherwise, superb, carpets are clean, I suspect they are like that from new, and have not been shampood. Has a full service history with regular maintenance for 272 000Km(170 000 miles), it even still has the origional Bekker radio with power antenna...
Or should I just zip and know a good deal and take it....

RE: W124 300d
Well, did the sensible thing and bought it, took it for a 250Km drive over the weekend, MY O MY, can't believe I actually wondered if I should but it, it goes like a dream, thanks for all the inputs... gets around 8L/100 km (29 mpg) from a straight 6, nothing to complain about there...
